Events 2024 Glitzy Vintage Jewellery Midlands

Glitzy Vintage Jewellery was formed through my love of jewellery that was both vintage and unique.

I, like many people who buy from me, am fascinated by how old a piece is, how it was made and the history surrounding it. Often, when I am selling at craft fairs and shows, people will come up to me just to talk about the jewellery and the memories it inspires.

I have pieces from the Victorian era through to the Retro-Modern period of the 1940s/50s, including the Edwardian era (which was the age of Art Nouveau) and the Art Deco period of the 1920s/'30s. In each period certain styles and materials were in vogue, and this went along with the fashion of that time.

In recent years vintage jewellery has become very popular as people recognise the beauty and craftsmanship of these pieces. When people buy from me I want them to have something unique that evokes memories of a bygone time

I am also inspired by the beads that were used in vintage jewellery and I love to create unique items using vintage beads. I try to make every piece different so no two pieces are the same.

I started selling vintage jewellery back in the 1990s at various locations in Surrey. Even then it was popular. In 2012 my daughter, Clara, needed to raise a large amount of money to fund a year volunteering in an orphanage in Uganda so she and I restarted sourcing vintage jewellery and making various pieces to sell. I realised how much I enjoyed doing this and how I'd missed it while bringing up my two children, so I decided to continue with this after she left for Africa.

I am based in South Devon and you can find me at various shows and craft fairs in the West Country and beyond. To see a list of where I will be click here.

Clara and her husband, Kyle, now run a similar business based in the Midlands. you can find out more about their business, Glitzy Vintage Jewellery midlands, and where they are trading here.
